  • UPDATE: LaPorte High School issues statement on lockdown

    UPDATE: LaPorte High School Principal Ben Tonagel issued a statement on the lockdown. He confirmed a single bullet was found around 10:00am, prompting an approximately two hour-long lockdown as police investigated and searched the school. Tonagel says the bullet was found near the entrance of the school, but that no firearms were found in the search. He acknowledged the lockdown was a convenience but said it was necessary to ensure the security of students and staff.
