  • Valentine's Day candles can be more dangerous than they look

    According to The Plymouth Pilot, Valentine's Day candles can be dangerous.  People often celebrate the holiday with candles to set a romantic mood. The candles can be beautiful, but they can set off a dangerous fire easily.  The Plymouth Pilot shares these tips:  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. • Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire. • Always keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. 

  • "I did that school a favor":Riley student responsible for controversial water fountain signs speaks out

    Students and staff at Riley High School were in for a shock after some signs showed up above several water fountains around the school. They read "Whites Only, and "Colored Only," over separate fountains.  

  • Fitch Camp preparing for annual soup luncheon

    Leader Publications report the annual Fitch Camp Soup Luncheon is back next Wednesday. It's hosted by a local sorority, Xi Delta Mu. The sisters will serve soup at First United Methodist Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person.  According to Leader Publications, the money raised goes to E. Root Fitch Camp, a summer program for Dowagiac students.

    Nuna Baby Essentials is recalling nearly 6,000 high chairs in the U.S. and Canada due to a faulty arm bar that can cause a falling hazard.
