An aquarium in North Carolina has a 30-foot waterfall that many people throw coins into while making a wish. Like many businesses, the aquarium has to close in March because of the pandemic. They turned the waterfall off in an attempt to conserve energy and then decided that since it was empty, they might as well clean out all of the coins that were at the bottom. The staff spent 4 hours to clean out 100-gallons worth of coins and once they cashed it all in found out it was a total of $2,100!!! The money will be used for general care of the animals.
Our staff turned off the 30-foot tall Smoky Mountain waterfall and collected all the coins! About 100 gallons of coins...Posted by NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores on Saturday, August 8, 2020
