    South Bend leaders are reacting to a violent milestone. The latest shooting, Monday night, marked the 30 in the city this year. There have been seven homicides since January 1.The South Bend Common Council's Health and Public Safety committee met Tuesday and a big concern that came up is manpower on the police force.

  • Hearing dates set for suspect in 2-year-old's shooting death

    Initial hearing dates have been set for the eight people charged in connection to the death of 2-year-old John Swoveland of South Bend.

  • Multiple departments called in for late night house fire

    Clay Township fire crews called in multiple crews to battle a late night house fire. It happened Tuesday night around 11:15 p.m. on Pam Dr.Dispatchers say by 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, the fire was mostly clear with just one crew on the scene to watch for hotspots.

  • Northridge Teacher Finishes 60th at Boston

    Andy Williams agreed that it was a perfect storm for him Monday at the Boston Marathon. The Northridge Middle School health teacher ran a personal best at the Boston Marathon in 2:26:38. The effort was good for 60th place out of more than 36,000 runners. It was also the 2nd best time for an Indiana runner. In 2013, Williams was 68th.
