We are celebrating 13 years of Bears in the Air this year, and we are thrilled to continue the tradition of giving back to make a difference in the lives of children and Veterans in our community! You and your friends and family are invited to the annual kick-off party on Friday, December 6 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the main terminal. This event brings the community together to have a great time for an even greater cause. The kick-off party helps raise funds to purchase brand new teddy bears for children in area hospitals. These bears bring joy and comfort during a difficult time. Bears in the Air also supports our community's most vulnerable Veterans who have served our wonderful country and are now in need of our support. Along with the bears, the funds raised provide financial assistance to the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran's Center. In the program's first twelve years, nearly 20,000 new teddy bears have been delivered to children in local hospitals including Beacon Children's Hospital, Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, Elkhart General Hospital, and Saint Joseph Health System. $96,600 has also been provided in financial assistance to the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran's Center. The more donations collected, the more smiles we can create for both children and Veterans alike. Admission to the cocktail-style party is $35 per person at the door, or tables of 10 seats may be reserved in advance for $450. Tables are based on availability and must be reserved by November 22. To reserve a table, contact Julie Curtis at jcurtis@sbnair.com or (574) 800-3230. The event is open to the public for adults 21+. There will be small bites, cocktails, music, and fabulous door prizes to enjoy. If you cannot make it to the kick-off party but are able to contribute, donations can be made until December 15 at https://givegrove.com/bearsintheair2024/. Join us for a wonderful time at SBN while making a positive difference in the lives of children and honoring our courageous Veterans! Parking in the long-term parking lot will be validated.
