The Marshall County Historical Society is sponsoring a Brown Bag Lunch & Lecture Event on Friday, March 14th, from Noon – 1:00 p.m. Learn about making real maple syrup the old-fashioned way. Local resident Jonathan Cook will share all the steps from tapping the trees to knowing when the syrup is done. He follows age-old methods for producing this sweet concoction. Cook will also discuss how the earliest Marshall County inhabitants, the Potawatomi and other tribes, made it before the European settlers arrived. The James Whitcomb Riley High School Drama Club presents "Hello, Dolly!" This classic musical follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a spirited widow and professional matchmaker in 1890s New York City. Dolly is determined to win Horace's heart for herself, despite his plans to marry a young woman named Irene Molloy. As she orchestrates a chain of events that leads to both chaos and romance, Dolly ultimately discovers her own desires and the joy of love. With its vibrant characters and catchy tunes, "Hello, Dolly!" remains a beloved staple of musical theater. "Hello, Dolly!" will be performed Friday, March 14 (7:00 PM), Saturday, March 15 (7:00 PM), and Sunday, March 16 (2:00 PM).
